EMERGING PHOTOGRAPHER SPONSOR PROGRAM

We understand the high cost associated with a photographic degree and wish to help. We have created a special initiative for Connect 2018: A selection of our festival sponsors will “adopt” an emerging photographer by contributing a $500 rebate to help defray some of the costs for a select group of talented emerging photographers to attend the Palm Springs Photo Festival workshop program, May 6 – 11.

This program is open to current full-time students, recent graduates (within 36 months) of an undergraduate or masters program at an accredited institution in the United States or emerging photographers with less than 3 year’s professional experience. Applicants selected to receive scholarship must register and participate in a Connect 2018 four-day workshop in order to redeem scholarship check. Scholarship recipients will be recognized and presented with their scholarship check during one of the four Evening Presentations during the Festival.

You may upload a Letter of Recommendation, composed by a member of the faculty at the institution you attend / attended or from a recent bonafide client or recognized professional photographer if desired / possible. Letter should speak to the quality of your work, commitment to your craft and recommend you for the offered scholarship. Please ensure letter lists author's contact information for follow up. File must be submitted in either .pdf or .doc format and must not exceed 1MB.

*Please upload your digital portfolio consisting of no more than 20 images. Your file must be in PDF format and must not exceed 3MB. Make sure your full name is in the file name along with the word 'portfolio' (ex: Bob_Smith_portfolio.pdf).

*In 500 words or less, please tell us why you should be selected as one of the honored Emerging Photographer Scholarship recipients at Connect 2017. Your proposal must be uploaded in either .pdf or .doc format and not exceed 1MB. Make sure your full name is in the file name along with the word 'proposal' (ex: Bob_Smith_proposal.pdf):
