BEN WILLMORE: LIGHTROOM + PHOTOSHOP: Working Together for Complete Control

Wednesday, May 9th 11:00am – 1:00pm

In this two-hour class, you’ll learn to we’ll dive deep to uncover the most effective strategies for using Lightroom and Photoshop together.
Optimize & Enhance
Optimize your workflow by determining the ideal order for your post production work. You’ll see how one feature (like sharpening) can throw a wrench in your ability to use another (like noise reduction) and how innocently skipping a step can make later work more difficult.
When exploring adjustments, you’ll see how two seemingly-different sliders can be used in concert so that one counterbalances the other to produce a more effective result. Once you’ve gotten as much as possible out of your digital capture, you’ll learn how to paint light and shadow into a scene in post production to add dimension to objects and transform dull captures into dramatic images.
Retouch
Learn to tackle complex retouching projects where one area might need to be scaled, rotated or flipped in order to conform to another area due to differences in perspective or angle.
Streamline
Learn how to round-trip your images from Lightroom to Photoshop and back again, even if that means making additional adjustments in Lightroom and return visits to Photoshop—all without ending up with a flattened image. Then, learn to streamline common tasks like printing so they become dramatically more intuitive and easy.
Good Stuff From Start to Finish
In order to spend the majority of our time on the techniques that truly matter, we will not cover the basics of either program. That doesn’t mean that things will be difficult to understand. It just means that we won’t show overly basic techniques, such as how to get your images into Lightroom, or cover “what is a layer.” If you do not have a basic working knowledge of both Lightroom and Photoshop, this class might not be right for you. But Ben has taught Photoshop for well over 20 years, so he knows how to make complex concepts easy to understand.
